Indy Hall Fit Club!

Filed under: Indy Hall Fit Club

Hey Indies! Now that the sun is shining a little longer these days, seems like a good time to get on up out of our chairs and move our bodies around a bit. There are a variety of ways to get the blood moving: running, walking, hiking, bouldering, whatever you are into!

There are two 5K races in April if you are looking for a kickstart to running. The Irish Memorial 5K run takes place on Sunday April 5th and runs right through Old City – aka right past Indy Hall! Later in the month on Saturday April 19th, a big chunk of indies will be running in the Clean Air 5K. So far we have got a team of 8 indies locked down, but there is plenty of room for more! Register today!

I know many of you have looked into the Couch to 5K program, which is about 2 months of prep time to get you ready to conquer those 3.2 miles… however, I know some of you are in pretty good shape and could get ready in just a few weeks. Maybe today is the day to get started?

If you are a running superstar, which I hear Mr. David Speers is, then sign up for the Broad Street Run on Sunday May 4th. It’s 10 miles of fun!

I am sure there is more in store in terms of group fitness for anyone who is interested. Start following indyhallfitclub on Twitter to stay in the loop. I think it’s time to dust off our bicycles, roll out our yoga mats, and get this party started!

And one final note, in the interest of promoting good health, and as a tribute to my favorite Philly runner, Mr. Reed Gustow (on our Clean Air 5K team!), please come out to Indy Hall on Saturday to donate blood. I was really hesitant about it since I am a blood donating n00b, but I signed up, and you should, too. You could be helping someone else get healthy. Register today on the Red Cross website.

Happy Spring everyone!

You should put a Philly marathon team together!
